Diamonds In the Ruff

They just need a bit of polish to shine!

Meet our Diamonds

Thursday, April 20, 2017 |

Did you know that NHS works with very scared and overly rowdy dogs? The shy fearful dogs need a home with patient people who won’t rush them to be friendly right away. The unruly dogs need an active owner, usually with some previous dog experience.

We call these dogs “Diamonds in the Ruff” because they just need a bit of polish to shine. (And sometimes just getting into a more home-like environment helps tremendously.) Our Diamond Dogs are often behind the scenes, because the kennels are either too scary, or too stimulating with so many people walking by.  Ask an adoption counselor about these “gems”. They make wonderful pets.

Meet Our Diamond Dogs

Gidget

Gidget is a 1-year-old boxer and pitbull terrier mix who loves people and loves attention from people! She can get really excited and jumpy when she meets new people, but she’s trying to work on self-control and manners. Gidget already knows sit, and is very eager to learn more! In fact, her adoption come with a free 6 week training course.

Her perfect home will have no young kids under 12, and a big yard for her to run around in! If you already have a dog, she would like to meet them before going home.

Gidget is available by appointment only, so if you would like to meet her please send us an email and includ Gidget A1128429 in the subject line!

Lulu

Lulu is a 1-year-old Weimaraner/ Boxer mix and she’s a party animals who loves to play! She loves toys and playing with other dogs. She can get mouthy when playing, but she’s currently working with our behavior department on self-control. She is very smart and picks up on new tricks quickly. Included in her adoption is a free six week training class to help her continue learning her manners!

Apartment life isn’t for Lulu, so she would prefer a home with a yard to run around in. Because she can get a little mouthy while playing she can’t go to a home with children under the age of 12. If you have a resident dog, she would like to meet them prior to finalizing her adoption!

Since Lulu is spending time working our behavior department, she’s available by appointment only. If you’re interested in meeting Lulu please send us an email and include Lulu A1111451 in the subject line.
