PROGRAMS FOR THE COMMUNITY

The Nebraska Humane Society works to reach all areas of the community to showcase homeless pets, so often we take animals on the road.  The “Pet Adoption on Wheels” is a 27-foot recreational vehicle purchased through the generosity of our volunteer guild “Friends Forever.”  Known as the “PAW”, this RV which is retrofitted with kennels and manned by volunteer adoption counselors, visits area parades, festivals, and fairs.  The public can adopt pets right off the PAW, making it a crucial, off-site extension of the Nebraska Humane Society.
