WALK FOR THE ANIMALS
September 28, 2008

Click here for details and pictures of Walk 2007

This annual fall event puts the “fun” in fundraising! We fill our meadow next to Bone Jour with thousands of walkers and their dogs. Pancake Man, Vendor Village, an Adoption Dog Parade, Alumni Parade and our Flealess Market (a silent auction with cool stuff) fill the morning, until we kick off the mile long Walk down the Keystone Trail. For the petite canine the Dachshund Dash takes a short spin just outside the meadow. (One Chihuahua barkmented that he really appreciates the consideration!) The routes are guaranteed to please everyone, from the couch potato to the serious athlete.

Walk with your best four-legged friend or grab co-workers, family members or neighbors and form a dog pack. A Dog Pack is an official fundraising team of walkers who collectively raise a minimum of $600. In 2007 the top dog pack was Muttley Crew headed by ace volunteer Chet Bressman. These go getters raised more than $13,000. Second place was NHS’s staff pack, the Humane Racers, closely followed by Jerry Slusky and the Law Dogs out of Slusky Law Firm. We appreciate all 58 Dog packs who walked and had fun in 2007!

  • Come and walk and enjoy the day!
Group Participation
  • Form a dog pack with family friends or co-workers
  • Enjoy camaraderie as you work with the group to raise at least $600 (have a bake sale, donate your casual day funds) Dog pack participants are also eligible on an individual level for the above prizes.
  • Earn cool prizes like a dog pack T-shirt and group photo.

Become a Corporate Sponsor
  • Great for larger corporations who want to help out but don’t have the time to gather a “pack”
  • Great for smaller companies or businesses that don’t have the manpower for a pack.
  • If you can supply needed services or help us with funding—you can become a corporate sponsor!
  • Help us help them and have a doggone good time!
