my first dog

I adopted my first dog, Finn, in November 2011...

He is a border collie mix about two years old. I was interested in the breed so when I saw him he caught my eye. When I got a chance to get to know him in the adoption room I discovered he knew some tricks, was affectionate, and treated me like he already knew me. I had to learn dog stuff quickly, like nose goes out the window in the car, and thanksgiving pies cannot be left to cool on the counter. Finn is very careful around my cat, who has taught him who is really in charge. He loves to go to the dogpark and play ball. He just finished the training to be a certified therapy dog so we can share his happiness with people who can really benefit from it.
