Marley and We

Marley and We

He's proved to be a great dog so far

My boyfriend and I adopted Marley, our 11 month old lab/chow mix, 8 days ago. He was the only dog we needed to visit in the "get acquainted room." He was hyper, didn't mind us at all, kind of listened to the counselor, jumped up, and didn't sit still the entire time. I was a little weary, but we both agreed he was our dog. There was just something so cute and charming about him.

Right off the bat we learned Marley likes to pull the leash on walks. Thankfully through the guidance of some online research we picked up a few techniques and he's already a lot better on walks. We also learned he can't be left alone with books, pencils, and our socks. Other than that, Marley has been well enough behaved to be left alone in our room when we go to work as long as he has a kong filled with yummy treats and peanut butter.

He knows sit, shake, and lay down pretty well now. He obeys especially well when we have treats. We took him in to the woods on our day off together and decided to let him off the leash. He had a blast and stayed within eye sight most of the time. We plan to do camping trips and many more fun things with our new buddy, Marley.
