Our Johnny Cat

Our Johnny Cat

When my fiancee (now husband) and I first moved out, it was quiet. Too quiet. I always grew up with pets and felt empty without having one around. We had moved into an apartment that doesn't take dogs, but I had fallen in love with his family's cat, and decided I wanted my own. I looked online for a long time, and in July 2012 found a cat at the Oakview Petsmart that I wanted to see. We stumbled upon a grey and white cat named Johnny and my fiancee fell in love. He was calm, cute, and stretched out in his arms right away. We adopted Johnny (now Walrus) and took him home. Walrus turned out to be sick when we adopted him. Once we got him healthy, he was anything but calm, but he turned out to be exactly what I needed to get me through some tough times. I always tell my husband that Walrus saved my life. Walrus is now over a year old and is a sweet and mellow cat. He has a little brother that we rescued as well. I am forever grateful that Walrus entered our lives, and became part of our family!
