Jacks

It was fate that brought us together and I can't be more happy it did.

I adopted Jacks on April 15, 2012. He was not only the first dog I've ever adopted, but the first dog I've ever owned. When I first started looking for a dog to adopt, I wanted something much different than Jacks. However, after two weeks of visits to the Nebraska Humane Society, I kept seeing him. His kennel said he was a "go-getter" but he was always nappy. Because of this, I finally decided I had to meet him. If anything, I wanted to see if he really had the energy the staff claimed he did. Immediately upon meeting him, I could see he was a vibrant personality. The staff loved him, but admitted he would pull on his leash and required a lot of exercise. Apparently that only made me like him more.

I ended up filling out the paperwork and adopting the best dog in the whole world. Since then, Jacks has filled my life with so much love. He's the sweetest boy who loves the dog park, peanut butter and squeaky toys. He sleeps on top of me every night (I don't mind) and is right at the door to greet me every day after work. After nearly two years together, I can't imagine life without him.

It was fate that brought us together and I can't be more happy it did. He's just the best. I'm so thankful to the Nebraska Humane Society for giving this guy a second and third chance (he had been at the shelter once before). Without the NHS, I would have never found my best friend.
