The day my passion for dogs began, was the day I brought Bailey home from the Nebraska Humane Society.

I remember the day I saw the black fluffy little puppy in the kennel at the Nebraska Humane Society. His cage had been passed by multiple times while I was there looking at all the others. He was scared and apprehensive to come to the front of the cage. But I was instantly drawn to him.

I met with an adoption counselor that introduced me to a dog, then know as Lindy (now Bailey). He had all eyes for the counselor and absolutely no interest in me. Even if it wasn't love at first sight for him, it most certainly was for me!
Shortly after adopting him, we started to see some issues that made our family really concerned. Bailey had some aggression issues that needed to be addressed right away and I didn't know how to handle these issue.

We waisted no time and got him into a Manners and More class to teach him some basic obedience. He thrived in the class and began thinking everybody Had treats in their pocket just for him!

Shortly after our obedience class, began our love for dog agility. He would work off any anxiety and energy running as fast as possible and have a blast doing it. We made leaps and bounds through all our experiences together and truly bonded while doing it. He gained mutual respect for me and I became his mother and best friend.

If it wasn't for Bailey, I don't think I would understand how important rescue is. Since he has come in my life, I have decided to give back to dogs everywhere by working with several area rescue groups by fostering, transporting and contributing. I have become a Licensed Veterinary Technician and have a special passion through behavior training. I dedicated my life to being the best animal advocate I can be.

Bailey still enjoys dogs agility after all these years and even though he can't keep up as much, he still tries to push himself. Hiking is his favorite and he battles hills better than me! And the aggression problem.... Long gone!

I never knew what love was until Bailey came in to my life. I thought I was training him, but really he was training me to be a better person.
