A Happy Family  I am very thankful for my fur babies In November I adopted an amazing Chi puppy from the Humane Society. He was 9 weeks old, and stole my heart. He became my best friend, and only wanted the best for him. I started to notice that he was becoming sluggish, and didn't want to play as much. So I decided he needed a little brother or sister to perk him up. When we got to the society things were not looking good. Watson would bark and growl at almost every dog he met. So we went home, without a sibling. A couple weeks later I saw a new litter of puppies had arrived at the society, so once again Watson and I made a trip out to see the dogs. Although I can't say it was love at first site, Abby was the first dog Watson didn't try to attack. We let them sniff and get used to each other for a little while. There were a few moments when I thought of just saying no, and leaving again. But then Watson started to play with Abby, and it was such a happy moment. I knew right then and there that this could work. So I adopted Abby and we all went home. The first night was rough, but we got past it. Now here we are, 3 weeks later and Watson and Abby are best friends. Where one goes, the other follows. They sleep together, eat together, and of course play together. Watson has never seemed happier, and Abby is fitting in very nicely. Who would have thought a Boxer and A Chi would become best friends? I am very thankful for my fur babies, and I am thankful to the Humane Society for allowing me the chance to save them. |
