Birthday Parties at NHS
Parents: Are you looking for a unique way to celebrate your child's birthday?
Please note: This program is currrently not available. Check back in spring of 2024!
Come have a wild time at the Nebraska Humane Society. Birthday parties at NHS are a "paw-sitively" great time for children aged 6 to 12. Your group will enjoy two hours of doggone fun!
Details:
- 20 guests maximum (including adults).
- Each group is facilitated by a Humane Educator
- Parties take place in the Center for Humane Education that is perfect for treats, presents and games. Party room is equipped with refrigerator, freezer and sink facilities.
- Birthday child receives a special gift pack and gets to name a shelter pet
- Family supplies the food, beverages, cake, decorations, etc.
- The rental fee is $275.
- Education Teachers (paid staff) are all CPR, AED, First Aid, and Epi pen trained for your childs safety.

- A variety of animal-themed activities
- A visit from an animal (if possible due to the nature of our shelter animals)

Pup Up Paw-ty
- Guaranteed to make the birthday boy or girl smile.
- Our party van, decked with birthday balloons and streamers, pops by with a shelter dog and a birthday sign that you keep.
- We serenade you with our best rendition of “happy birthday” hopefully including some dog howls!
- We take a photo that we’ll email to you in a fun frame, and leave a gift and activity kit for all kiddos to enjoy.
- The birthday boy or girl gets the chance to name a shelter pet, with a certificate to make it official.
- That’s doggone fun!

Doggie Drive Up
Be the first to rock your block with either option!
Single house Drive Up
- Our party van pops by your address with a shelter dog who wags “hi."
- We get a family porch photo, add a fun frame and email it to you.
- We leave an activity pack that the whole family can enjoy.
*All proceeds stay at the shelter so you can enjoy your day while you give back to the animals.
Rock the Block
- We park the party van on the block and walk the route wagging “hi” with a shelter dog.
- Music plays as we parade by and pass out family activity packs.
- Families can compete in the NHS trivia competition – the winning family gets a prize!

- Pup Ups and Drive Ups are $100 through online payment.
- All dates are subject to availability.
- Due to travel time, NHS Pup-Ups and Drive Ups are only available for residents in Omaha and Sarpy County.
