About the Program The Nebraska Humane Society is proud to announce the creation of a new internship program for your students. This program will provide students with the opportunity to combine classroom learning with real-world experiences.
The internship is an unpaid opportunity to students who are currently over the age of eighteen years, and is enrolled in an academic program at a college or university. Due to nature of the program, we ask that students commit to at least ten hours of service per week, for approximately three months.
There are several unique opportunities available in the shelter. Each opportunity allows for students to explore areas of personal interest, while gaining real-world career skills. Each unique internship opportunity at the shelter is designed to enhance your ability to work with the general public and various species of animals.
From each applicant, we would like a cover letter explaining their credentials and career goals, at least two references, your school’s requirement for independent study ( if applicable), and the completed application.
