The Nebraska Humane Society offers three types of beginning obedience training for dogs.  Click the class name below to read a descriptions of the class to decide which class will be the best fit for you and your dog.

Browse through the calendar to find a start date that fits for you. There are three convenient ways to register for a class.

1. Click on the gray box in the date you choose and register online.
2. Download an application, fill it out, and mail it in.
3. Come to the Nebraska Humane Society in person and register at the front counter.

The classes on the calendar list the starting date for each class. All classes are 6 weeks long unless noted.  The class you choose will meet once a week at the same time and place as the starting class.


 

Puppy Pre-School
This class teaches basic obedience to pups from 3-8 months old. Your pup will learn to play nicely with others and behave on family outings. In addition classes focus on loose leash walking, name recognition, sit, down, stand, wait/stay, grooming and socialization.  The first class of each session is for people only Download application.

K9 Elementary
Basic obedience for dogs 8-15 months of age who have never taken an obedience class. Your pooch will learn basic house manners and obedience commands like sit, stay, come, down, leave it and controlled walking. Time is also spent on grooming and socialization. The first class of each session is for people only.   Download application.

K9 Junior High
For dogs 6-15 months of age who have completed a puppy class or K9 Elementary.Your pooch will learn advanced commands, reinforce those already known and focus on proper social skills. Dogs come to all six classes. Download application.

Refund Policy
We will gladly honor a refund request up to 48 hours before the start of class. Students must call 444-7800 extension 702. Refund checks are mailed and take about two weeks to process. Sorry, we are unable to honor refund or class-change requests after class has started.
