Animal Control is responsible for picking up injured or dead wildlife on roadways, ditches and in residential and business areas of Omaha, Bellevue, La Vista, Papillion, Ralston, Gretna, Springfield, and Sarpy County. To report a dead animal for pick-up please call 444-7800 extension 1.

If a dead animal is on your property and you want to move it yourself it’s always advisable to wear gloves.  Place the animal in a plastic trash bag (some people prefer to double bag) and secure the top.  You can then call Animal Control for pickup or drop the animal off at the Nebraska Humane Society at 8929 Fort Street, in Omaha.
