  2. You must be willing to commit to a minimum of 8 hours per month.
  3. You must be willing to make a commitment of at least 6 months.
  4. You must attend an orientation and training session.

If this sounds like something you want to do then:

  • Download and fill out an application
  • Attend our next Volunteer Orientation Day
  • Attend the following Saturday’s Training Day
  • Schedule an interview with our Volunteer Coordinator who can help you decide which volunteer opportunity is right for you.!
2008 Orientation/Training Sessions
(you must attend both sessions)
Orientation   Training
Sept. 13th, 2-4pm plus Sept. 20, 9-3:30pm
All volunteer training takes place in the auditorium
at NHS at 8929 Fort Street.

So lend a paw and become a Nebraska Humane Society volunteer -- you can schedule your hours whenever it’s most convenient for you.

* A Couple of Notes:  Due to the number of high school students who wish to volunteer we ask each to write and attach a short essay on why they’d like to volunteer at the Shelter and what they hope to gain from the experience. Students will receive a call from our coordinator when they are accepted into the program

Also, because of liability issues the Nebraska Humane Society does not have a program for Court Ordered Diversion.
