Home Is Where Norman Is

My husband and I can't imagine life without our Shiba Inu

Home Is Where Norman Is

Thursday, November 5, 2015 | NHS Staff

The best part of my day is coming home to my dog, Norman Avocado (yes, that’s his name). As soon as Norman hears my car roll up to the house, he halts his favorite activity (sleeping) and starts his dance sequence … which mostly involves standing on his back legs and begging with his front paws.

Simply put, Norman freaks out when my husband and I arrive home – he runs around the house because he can hardly contain his excitement. It’s the best feeling, just knowing how much he missed us – even if we’re only gone for a few minutes to run an errand. Norman is THE best dog. We adopted him in 2014 when he was 6 years old. He was found by Animal Control officers in the field. I just can’t imagine how someone could’ve let Norm wander and not look for him. But you know what? It doesn’t matter anymore – Norm is where he needs to be: at home with my husband and our two orange tabbies.

The cats are still a little iffy about the dog, but together, we’re a complete family.
