Minnie the St. Bernard rescued from large hole

Firefighters, police and NHS teamed up to save the 9-year-old dog.

Minnie, a 9-year-old St. Bernard, fell into a large hole during an excavation project in her owner's backyard. Upon arrival, Omaha firefighters found her trapped up to her neck, with just her head and front paws visible above the dirt. The Omaha Fire Department, Police Department and NHS Animal Control Officers worked together to free the sweet girl from the hole. Afterward, NHS evaluated Minnie for injuries, and we are grateful that she was able to be returned to her owner.

Thank you so much to OFD, OPD and our ACOs for their quick, life-saving work!
