Saved Each Other One year ago today I went to Nebraska Humane Society to look at a dog I saw on the site... ...that was a Monday Nov. 12th 2012. I had gone into see this little long haired red dachshund the Friday before and left her there. Not knowing if she and I were a good fit. She was 7 1/2 yrs old they said, came from a puppy mill and was dropped off at night after an auction so they wouldn't have to spend money to leave her there at NHS. They say that puppy mill dogs have a lot of problems, so was a little leary. I told myself if she was still there on Monday I would go back and see her again. Low and behold on Monday there she was still on the site, so I went back to see her. She was a skinny little thing, scared and not too friendly, but what can you expect, she had a terrible life in the puppy mill. I could not leave her there that day and it is the best decision of my entire life...she is so precious to me! We love each other and she takes me for walks everyday! I love her soo much and she adds so much to my life that its just incredible!! So all I can say is that take a chance on a dog at the Nebraska Humane Society, it could add joy and years of happiness to your life and to the precious dogs life too!! Thank You NHS!!! My baby's name is Lexi! |
