Happy!  Thank you NHS for our new family member! My husband and I had been wanting to add a dog to our family for awhile, but wanted to wait until we owned a home with a fenced yard and could provide the space for the dog to play. About a week after purchasing our first home, we visited NHS to see if there was a dog that would be a good fit in our home (we also have two rescue cats and want them to feel comfortable in their home as well). When I saw Happy (formally known as Scooter during his shelter stay), he made me smile from ear to ear! There was just something about his personality that touched me! :) It didn't take long in the "get acquainted" room to know that this boy was supposed to be coming home with us. I honestly don't know how anyone could give this guy up! He is a perfect mixture of calm and energetic. He's constantly smiling, wagging his tail, showering you with kisses and making you happy! Hence the new name ;) He gets along great with our cats and acts like he's lived with us forever! He loves hugs, going on walks to the park, sleeping at the end of the bed and sticking his head out the window on car rides! We missed out on the first seven years of his life but we feel so lucky we get to spend the future with him. We love this boy and feel so lucky we get to call him family. |
