Photos of the Doggie Dip
Thanks to everyone who came out for our first Doggie Dip. We think this new event made quite a splash with all the pooches in attendence. Check out photos here.

Proposed Dangerous Dog Ordinances
In response to recent serious dog bites, the City of Omaha has proposed new ordinances to hold owners responsible for their dogs actions. A series of ordinances will work toward identifying potentially dangerous dogs and requiring owners to take action to re-train or restrain the dogs before tragedies occur. Read more on the ordinances and the reasoning behind them.

Merle

Ok, so I know I was the featured dog last week, but I love the spotlight and I'm still here, so hello again my fine friends.  I'm Merle and I've been looking for my Forever Home since July 12. What would you like to know about me? Well, I'm a two-year-old Catahoula Leopard hound mix (say that five times fast!) and I love to play. I was the poster child for the Doggie Dip and I was hoping someone would adopt me and then take me swimming, but the event has come and gone and I'm still waiting. Let me know what you think.

Baby

Nice to meet you again. Just like Merle I'm still waiting. My name is Baby. If you think I look familiar it's because I've been looking for my Forever Home since March. I almost found my home a month ago, but I didn't get along with the other cats already living there. So after three days I came back to the Humane Society to try again. I'm nine years old and I'm looking for someone who appreciates a mature cat. I enjoy playing, cuddling and petting, but I also enjoy spending some time by myself. Are you looking for an independent cat who won't monopolize all your time? If so, stop on by and ask for me.
